100th House

The  100th house moved from Mille Roches/Moulinette.

  THE MASSENA OBSERVER,
THURSDAY, NOV. 15,1956

The one-hundredth house was moved to Ontario Hydro's Town-site No. 2 on Wednesday. In less than four months, one hundred homes from the communities of Mille Roches and Moulinette have traveled the winding access road to the modern new townsite.

Moving operations began on July 16th in the area of
Maple Grove, clearing the way for the Diversion Canal, and since then have continued at a rapid pace through Mille Roches to the western limits of Moulinette.

House 100 is a two-story frame house that sat on the north side of old No. 2 highway in Moulinette. It was originally the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Ray who have sold the dwelling to Hydro.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray have a new home under construction in townsite #2 and, although they moved with their old home to the new town, hope to be in their new house before Christmas.  The house is a duplex and the upstairs tenants, Mr. and Mrs. John Moss, will continue to occupy their apartment in the townsite.
