The files in the CBC Seaway Archives are almost 50 years old and were put online several years ago.  These archives use the Windows Media Player to display the movies on your computer.  Unfortunately, very recent versions of the Windows Media Player will not display all of the archived files.

Here's what we recommend.  Go to the CBC Archive by clicking on this link.  If item #3 (let the flooding begin) fails to display a moving picture, then you should use your browser's "back button" to return to this page and then follow the instructions below.

Here's a great fix for the problem which works 100% of the time. It will take you about ten minutes to solve this problem forever - for all web sites.

1) Click on this link which will begin a download.  When asked whether to RUN or SAVE select RUN.
It is extremely slow to start. Please be patient.

2) During the installation you will be shown a long list. Don't get flustered by this list. This is NOT a problem, and here is exactly what to do.

3) Scroll down the list ignoring anything that is already pre-selected until you find the word Microsoft in the left-most column. When you find it, click on the empty tick-box beside the word Microsoft.

4) Continue scrolling down until you find a SECOND occurrence of the word Microsoft. When you find it, click on the empty tick-box beside the word Microsoft.

Now you are ready to proceed with the installation by clicking on the “NEXT” button.

Click on each “NEXT” button as it is offered, and finally on the “INSTALL” button.

As the installation continues to run, your computer may seem to have frozen a few times - please be patient because this is normal behaviour for this package.

A built-in virus scanner will test your system for viruses during the installation.
WAIT for this to finish! If there are a lot of files on your computer, this will still be running after tyhe installation is completed - let it finish normally.

Eventually you will see the message "Press any key to continue" - doing so will close the virus scanner window and allow the main installation package to resume if it has not yet completed installing the software.

There is no need to restart your computer after this installation has completed. This software is certified to be free from viruses.

Now, proceed to the CBC Archives by clicking on this link.
